Bumper sales results for Retailers in March 2020

 

The ABS has recorded a bumper March for retail, largely due to panic buying. Sales are have spiked upwards by $2.7 billion, mainly due to the panic buying of several supermarket products. The categories that have risen are no surprise, with food and grocery sales up, but offset by a 20% drop in sales at cafes, restaurants, clothing and department stores.
