A recent survey has found that Aussies have a staggering almost $2 billion dollars of outstanding gift cards that are yet to be cashed in at retailers. Furthermore 25% of respondents said they had allowed gift cards to expire.
Even with the now 3 year expiry date that was introduced in November 2019, this incredible amount of outstanding gift cards, shows that while they might be a great gift, they are easy to forget about. With gift cards becoming a popular way to provide gifts, due to delivery and stock challenges, this outstanding amount may actually be on the increase.
