Why evaluating your team regularly,
is critical to performance improvement
Mystery shopping is one-way retailers use to evaluate the performance of their staff. However, mystery shopping is not done often enough, in my opinion, relying on an evaluation once a month (at best) is insufficient to effect change. Team members performance needs to be evaluated much more often to identify off-targets and trends that need to be improved.
Owners and manager need to be evaluated weekly and even daily so they know where each team member is at – what they are doing well and what they need to improve. This can only be done on the job when they are serving customers.
