The latest strain of the virus is starting to cause havoc with the supply of a number of food and essential items, with empty shelves appearing in many supermarket aisles. Now we’re seeing staff disappearing as well, as Omicron spreads like wildfire and impacts retailers’ abilities to roster enough staff.
Some local retailers have had to go to the extreme measure of closing their doors as they struggle to get enough staff to open. Expect the problem to get worse before it gets better as the virus continues to impact our retailers both small and large.
