Are greedy landlords killing off retailers?

The litany of retailers closing their doors has been ever present for the last few years as economic pressures, competition, high wages and rents have started to bite. We’re now seeing large numbers of empty shops in both shopping centres and traditional high street shopping destinations. So, have landlords been too greedy with their annual rental increases when retailers are struggling to beat or even match last year’s sales?
